After your image is "aged" and aplied to the birch block, each block is carefully finished with gold leaf edging and sealed with several protective coatings for durabilty. The tray receives the same "aging process" and protective coating as the blocks. This "aging process" is what creates a visual unity to the puzzle, regardless of the images you select.
